1 cup yogurt, plus 1 tbsp for garnish
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1 pinch dried saffron threads
1 tsp cornstarch
3/4 cup water
250 g uncooked shish barak dumplings (can be frozen)
1 tsp dried rose petals
Directions
- In a medium saucepan add yogurt, garlic, salt, and saffron. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water. Add water to the saucepan.
- Whisk stew and bring to simmer on a stove. Gently drop dumplings into the stew and stir to distribute.
- Continue to simmer on low for 15 minutes. Avoid disturbing the dumplings while cooking; gently shake the saucepan instead to loosen the dumplings from the bottom and sides of the pan.
- Season stew to taste. Pour the stew into a shallow bowl, and drizzle reserved yogurt over top. Sprinkle with rose petals.
